1.Rainwater Harvesting ( 12 Nos) Purpose: To maximize the collection and use of rainwater for the park’s ecosystem and maintenance needs. Features:

Installation of rainwater harvesting systems in strategic areas across the park to capture rainwater from rooftops and open spaces.
The collected rainwater will be used for irrigating plants, maintaining gardens, and replenishing the park’s water bodies, reducing dependency on external water sources. Storage tanks and filtration systems will be integrated to ensure the quality and longevity of the harvested water.
The project aims to promote water sustainability and educate visitors on the importance of rainwater harvesting in reducing water scarcity, especially in drought-prone areas.

2.Check Dam(25 Nos) Purpose: To enhance groundwater recharge and prevent soil erosion by controlling the flow of water during rains. Features:

Construction of a new check dam in a designated area within the park to help manage the flow of rainwater and retain water for longer periods.
The check dam will help in recharging the groundwater levels, contributing to improved water availability throughout the year, especially during the dry season.
It will prevent the runoff of rainwater, allowing it to seep into the ground, thus reducing soil erosion and maintaining the health of the surrounding vegetation.
This project aligns with NBNP’s existing efforts, such as the desilting of wells and rainwater retention systems, which have successfully increased water levels in the park.
The check dam will also serve as an example of sustainable water management practices, demonstrating how nature-based solutions can mitigate water scarcity and improve ecosystem resilience.

These projects will not only support the park’s biodiversity but also promote sustainable water management, helping NBNP serve as a model for eco-friendly conservation practices.
